May 2, 1942

Just about ready now to catch the train for my second leave to Scotland. John Begg and I are going together. Two nights ago Harold Wright dropped in and had dinner with me – will probably see him again in another two or three weeks. 9:25 p.m. on train to Glasgow. Train rolling so I can’t write. We caught the train at Seaford at 3:25 p.m. Timmy and Pat Harrison rode with us as far as Lewes. Arrived in Victoria Station at 5:05 p.m., took a taxi to Euston – then went to Euston Hotel for tea and caught a tube for Hyde Park where we strolled around and heard the soap box orators. Had dinner at Euston Hotel and caught Glasgow train.
