May 8, 1942

Arrived in London at 7:30 a.m. stayed there until 3:45 p.m. Caught train for Seaford. Arrived home at 6 p.m. Had letter from Muriel telling me of her mother’s death. Cabled her and got all my things packed in readiness for move the following day.
