June 1, 1942 – Blitz Buggy ambulance

Called to 2nd Div. H.Q. to give my experience and advice on making an ambulance suitable for assault. Have been manufacturing one from a Blitz Buggy – three stretcher cases and one sitting case. Present it to the General tomorrow, for his approval or otherwise. On Wednesday, demonstrate out Medical set up to the Officers of the Expedition, which consists of six Bn of 2nd Div. – one Company of Engineers – one Field Ambulance and the 14th Army Tank Bn. I don’t know what force you would call it – probably an assault force. Tonight Ralph, Jim, Bert and I went for a trip in our Blitz Buggy, stripped for action. Everybody nearly killed themselves laughing at this ridiculous little car.
