July 25, 1942

Spent my 44th birthday riding on the train. Arrived in Waterloo Station at 3 p.m. Went to the Waldorf Hotel, then down CMHQ.  On the way back was just passing Nelson’s Monument in Trafalgar Square when I ran into Byron Alexander. He is stationed about forty minutes bus ride from City.
