Jan. 7, 1942

Slept in this morning then had a lazy time until after lunch. I went down to the Clysdale Bank and met Mr. Muir – we went over to Craig’s for tea with a bunch of men whom I had met on a previous visit. At 7 p.m., Mr. Muir and I left Rocklea station where I had to line up for a train. It was terribly crowded and arrived in London two hours late. Got a little tiny room in Grosvenor Hotel and had a good sleep. Just coming to life now. (Jan. 8).
