Went to 1st Div. – H.Q. With Capt. Curran – passed through Syracusa – Floridia, Vizzini to Caltagirone, a few miles south of Enna. A rugged foothill country, one road only – steep hairpin bends and terrific gorges. All sorts of caves built in to private dwellings. The people are a very poor class and the country is appalling.
